“I am proud to have been born an Untouchable; and whatever I have achieved is entirely due to the strength of my community.”
“I do not want to be reborn, but if reborn, I wish that I would be reborn as an untouchable, so that I may lead a continuous struggle against the oppression and indignities that have been heaped upon these classes of people.”
“I have done a lot in spite of the words of abuses hurled at me from all sides. I will continue to do so till my death. Tell my people…Whatever I have done, I have been able to do so after passing through crushing miseries and endless troubles all my life and fighting with my opponents.”
“With great difficulty I have brought this caravan where it is seen today. Let the caravan march on despite the hurdles that may come in its way. If my lieutenants are not able to take the caravan ahead, they should leave it there, but in no circumstances should they allow the caravan to go back. This is the message to my people.”
“My final words of advice to you is ‘Educate, Agitate and Organize ‘. Have faith in yourself. With justice on our side, I do not see how we can lose our battle. The battle to me is a matter of joy. The battle is in the fullest sense spiritual. There is nothing material or social in it. For, ours is a battle not for wealth or for power. It is a battle for freedom. It is a battle for the reclamation of human personality. “
“If Hindu Raj does become a fact, it will, no doubt, be the greatest calamity for this country. No matter what the Hindus say, Hinduism is a menace to liberty, equality and fraternity. On that account it is incompatible with democracy. Hindu Raj must be prevented at any cost. “
