Towards centennial celebration of rights, dignity, and awakening: Mahad Satyagraha (Maharashtra) and Cherthala (Kerala)
On 20 March 1927, Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar marched to the Mahad water tank with thousands of followers to defy the practice of untouchability and challenge the caste system. That same year, Narayana Guru raised a mirror in a temple instead of a deity, thus confirming that the divinity is inside each one of us, reaffirming the message of the Buddha: be your own light and live reflective and contemplative life.
In 2027, both the landmark events will be 100 years old. This is the time to celebrate not only the events, but also reflect on what happened in the last 100 years.
On 20 March 2024, the three years long program of events will be kickstarted on the occasion of the day of Mahad march in Nagpur.
On this inaugural occasion, Gopal Guru and Dinakaran will enlighten the audiences and Sudharak Olwe, Padmashree and renowned artist, will present his art work.

The cover design of the book ‘Humanising Power’ written by IRS Dhananjay Soindaji, will be released.
